Children in Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 are offered universal free school meals. This is regardless of your household income. We encourage all children to access our school meals everyday, there is plenty of choice and we will work with families to accommodate any allergies, intolerances, religious beliefs or other dietary needs.
You do not have to apply for universal free school meals. However, you can apply for your school to get extra funding from the government, if you receive one of the benefits list below. This extra funding is called Pupil Premium:
Children in Year 3 and above only receive free school meals if you get one of the benefits listed above. You must apply for these free school meals.
This document outlines the changes from September 2026 and includes a link to apply for free school meals. Alternatively, you can apply directly here.
Some children choose to bring a packed lunch from home. This is not necessary until children are in Year 3. We ask that lunch boxes promote healthy eating for your child with no sweets or sugary treats. We are a nut free school and no nuts or products containing nuts are allowed on site. We also ask that children do not bring drinks that are in cans or glass bottles. Fizzy drinks, hot drinks must not be brought to school.
