This week in school.
Well done to Year 6 who have given their all in the SATs this week. Now we can get back to “real” education!
Next Week
Next week all classes are getting the chance to take part in inclusive sports. The company bring in wheelchairs and the children get the opportunity to try out sporting activities that children with disabilities could do. This is a real opportunity for our children to develop empathy with others.
We will also be having an inter-school football on Tuesday against Murrow school. The matches will take place at 3.45pm in our playground, so come along and cheer the teams on!
The date for the Alderman Payne SEND Café has moved to Tuesday 21st May at 9.00am on the Library bus.
Come along and chat to other parents who “know what it’s like.”
Early warning!
After half term it will be Arts week. One of the things we have done for many years is to have a Bollywood dancer visit the school. Kalpesh works with all of the classes, then at the end of the day. parents are invited to school to watch the performance in the playground. The performance replaces family reading and family assembly that week. More information will follow, however the early warning is to let those of you who have never experienced this before know about the celebration at the end of the performance! We take part in the celebration of Holi. This involves the children throwing non-toxic powder at each other. Children need a change of clothes (old ones), and if you drive to school, you will need to bring bin bags for them to sit on in the car when they go home. More details will follow next week about this.
Other news
Parent governor
Are you interested in becoming a governor? We are currently looking for a parent governor to join our governing body. We already have three parent governors and need a final one.
Governors help to set the strategic direction of the school. No special qualification is needed though; just someone who is interested in learning more about the school through visits and meetings, and who wants to contribute to the school’s development. If you are interested, talk to Ms. Blyth about what it involves.
School trip
Thank you if you have already paid for the Sandringham trip. Anyone with monies outstanding should pay the office as soon as possible, thank you.
