Our latest newsletter.
Welcome back to the summer term! This is always a busy term; do make sure you look at the events which are happening in school (at the end of this email) and get them in your diary.
This week in school.
We have started the term with year 3/4 undertaking “Bikeability”. This is an excellent opportunity for children to learn about riding their bikes safely. Well done to all who took part in this.
We also started our latest whole school project; ”Commando Joe.” Every class will get the opportunity to try this every week for most of the summer term. “Commando Joe” is a company who specialise in building resilience and confidence in children, something that is so necessary following the legacy of Covid. The company work with the whole class using team building activities. All the classes enjoyed the first session of this.
Poor Year 6 had to do an additional reading test this week! Our school was selected at random by the Department for Education to pilot what will potentially become a future reading SATs paper for Year 6. We have been selected once before to do this. We don’t receive any results, rather the results of all the school who are selected are analysed by the DfE to ensure the test is age appropriate.
Next Week
Don’t forget swimming will begin next week, as will family reading and family assembly.
Next week will also see some of Year 5 taking part in the heats for the Cambridgeshire maths challenge. We wish them the best of luck in this.
